Dear friends and readers,
Welcome to my blog. I name this blog ‘the world of Neil Semuel Rupidara’ which reflects a place within which I share with you things that I think and do. People live because they think act and also feel and believe and so do I. The materials posted here however would not be able to cover all that I think about, believe, feel, and do. They are just part of my whole world but hope that you find something of your interests.
By the way, let me first introduce myself. As my blog’s name suggest, I am Neil Semuel Rupidara. Please call me Neil. My colleagues at the Faculty of Economics at Satya Wacana usually call me Sem. So please be free which one you prefer.
I am a lecturer at Dept. of Management, Satya Wacana Christian University, in Salatiga, Central Java, Indonesia. My specific area of interests is Strategic International Human Resource Management. It is an application of Strategic HRM in the context of multinational companies (MNCs). in studying the field, I employ a number of persperctives such as the resource-based view of the firm (RBV), institutional theory, and micro-politics of actors, but I open myself to learn other perspectives as well. Beside that major interest, I am also interested in areas like organisational studies, leadership, change management, and also higher education and adult pedagogy.
I am currently doing my PhD at Department of Business, Faculty of Economics and Business, Macquarie University in Sydney. I started this program in March 2008. My research is about the process HR managers within subsidiaries of MNSs in Indonesia develop their HRM. It is a qualitative study that explores and aims to theorise the construction of an integrated HR systems. I have collected my data through a fieldwork in Jakarta and now I am analysing the data and writing papers. A few papers below are related to this project.

Yang baru yang bagaimana scape? Kalau baru itu terkait posting baru, yang sabar ya.. time consuming juga nih he he he… Kalau yang baru itu menyangkut ide-ide, mudah-mudahan bergulirnya waktu ada sesuatu yang ‘baru’ yang ditawarkan tetapi barangkali apa yang lebih diperlukan adalah konsisten aja kok (walau unsur dan sifat kebaruan pun penting)… he he he… salam!
